Historical fiction is a story or novel captured in another time. History explains how we got to the place we are now, how we became who we are. Fiction provides a means for transporting us from the cares of everyday life to the worlds of other people, other places. I am no John Grisham or Greg Iles but like "The Reckoning" and "Cemetery Road" my stories cover places like Mississippi and the south, the plight of the poor and black people and the Great Depression. And like Kurt Vonnegut and Ken Follett, their "Slaughterhouse Five" and "Eye of the Needle" I write about World War II, the atrocities of Hitler, bravery, sacrifice and spies. And finally, my wide genre of fiction includes stories about Mary Queen of Scots and Queen Elizabeth I, Westminster Abbey, spirits, witches and life in the 16th century with a twist of fantasy similar to the writings of George R.R. Martin's "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" and Philippa Gregory's "The Other Boleyn Girl"
